Saturday, February 4, 2012

Another tough week for Carnival Cruise Line, this time aboard the Ruby and Crown Princess Ships.

140 passengers and 18 crew members have become ill on board the Crown Princess and 81 passengers and 9 employees are sick on the Ruby Princess ship, as a result of the Norovirus.

The virus is a gastro-intestinal bug transmitted by the touch and can cause vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps.

The Doral based Carnival Cruise Line plans to bring the ships back to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow morning to have the passengers disembark at the Broward Convention Center instead of the port at Port Everglades.

The 2 ships will be thoroughly cleaned before departing again Sunday afternoonon, causing delays for those hoping to set sail.
